Photosynthesis

Plants capture light energy directly through the process of photosynthesis, they convert this light energy into stored energy.

This process is possible due to the plants green leaves containing a light capturing substance called Chlorophyll.

Chlorophyll captures the light energy and uses this to build up carbohydrates from the simple raw materials – water, carbon dioxide and minerals.
